Very Rare Second Edition, Now Titled Hodges' New Bank Note Safe-GuardNew-York: Arranged and Published by J. Tyler Hodges, Banker, 1857. Folio [34 by 22 cm], original dark green cloth, impressed in blind and lettered in gilt; original heavy printed paper covers bound in. (4), 326 pages; typographical depictions of bank notes, 27 to a page, throughout. The very rare second edition, lacking from the Ford library. These useful publications were gradually enlarged and revised by brothers John Tyler and Daniel Milton Hodges and, in 1862, the work was taken over by Daniel's son Edward. It remained in the latter's hands until the final edition of 1865. Front cover nearly detached, along with opening blanks; text generally very good or better. Estimate $500. Ex: Eric P.
