Extremely Rare 1860 New Bank Note Safe-Guard New-York: J. Tyler Hodges, Banker, 1860. Folio [34 by 22 cm], original decoratively blindstamped brown cloth; upper cover lettered in gilt. (4), 380 pages; typographical depictions of bank notes, 27 to a page, throughout. An exceptionally rare edition, lacking from the Champa, Bass and Ford libraries. Intriguingly, the ANS Library has a copy of the 1859 edition also titled as being the "fourth quarterly edition." Rather well-preserved, with only some chipping near the top and bottom of the spine. Very good or better. Estimate $600. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
