Very Rare 1865 Final Edition of Hodges No Longer Listing Confederate StatesNew York: Published by Edward M. Hodges, 1865. Folio [35.5 by 22.5 cm], original decoratively blindstamped dark brown cloth; upper cover lettered in gilt. 320 pages; typographical depictions of bank notes, 30 to a page, throughout. Various clippings, probably from Hodges' Journal of Finance and Bank Note Reporter, affixed to pastedowns. The very rare final edition, lacking from the Champa, Bass and Ford libraries and not represented in the American Numismatic Society Library. In this edition, those states under Confederate control were no longer listed. Bank notes issued in Union areas of Louisiana, which was under split control, are included. West Virginia is listed as a separate entity for the first and only time in this edition. Binding moderately worn; no particular problems. Very good. Estimate $750. Ex: Eric P.
