(After 1746) Pine Tree Shilling Facsimile -- Reverse Tooled -- NGC Details. AU. Newman-PQ. The Newman plate coin for the die marriage in his reference Secrets of the Good Samaritan Shilling. The central reverse field has been smoothed north and east of the date, probably by the maker to obscure tell-tale flaws. The dies appear slightly out of parallel, which leads a sharp strike on the lower obverse and reverse, while the upper obverse and reverse are incompletely impressed. Ex: Eric P.
