(circa-1859) W. Idler, Coin Dealer, Philadelphia, PA, MS62 NGC. Baker-544G, Miller-Pa-214, W-15960. Copper, plain edge, 33 mm. William Idler was an important 19th century numismatist with connections to the U.S. Mint. He issued several different store cards, including pieces that emulated very rare Peter Getz private patterns or the unobtainable Maryland denarium. This variety pairs a Getz copy reverse with a store card die. Much orange-red surrounds obverse design elements, and the reverse is forest-green. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
