1776 Imitation British Halfpenny, Variety 1-76A, Fine. This light tan and steel example from the "Rubber Lady" family has the appearance of lightly patinated brass. The Rubber Lady family includes seven known varieties from five reverse dies that each bear a different date or date and country combination. While the present piece is a duplicate from Eric's collection, it is an extremely important variety and presents a great opportunity for the advanced collector. Ex: Eric P.
