1781 Imitation British Halfpenny, Newman 44-81E, Good. This example, the plate coin for obverse 44 and reverse 81E in Eric's 1988 article, has lightly porous deep olive-brown surfaces with areas of maroon verdigris on the reverse. However, it is extremely important to the Colonial specialist as a piece that actually circulated in America. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
Heritage Auctions 11/2018 (Newman XI), lot15561 (realized $228).
