1769 Counterfeit Irish Halfpenny, Good. The late Mike Ringo identified this example as IR-72 according to the accompanying envelope that he prepared for a 1998 ANS exhibit. Most likely dated 1769, although Eric P. Newman noted that it might be dated 1766. Eric also correctly noted that the reverse lettering is backward. Attractive and with smooth steel-brown surfaces. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
