1903G$1 Louisiana Purchase, Jefferson Gold Dollar MS62 NGC. Chief Engraver Charles Barber prepared the designs for the two Louisiana Purchase Exposition gold dollar commemoratives, one with a portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse and other portraying William McKinley. Both varieties had a distribution of 17,500 coins. This Jefferson type coin displays satiny wheat-gold luster and well-struck design elements. No bothersome abrasions are seen. Ex: Eric P.
