Fairbanks Double Beam Counterfeit Detector. A Fairbanks double beam balancing counterfeit coin detector. The balance platform has 10 slots, stamped for the dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar silver denominations; the gold denomination slots are for the double eagle, eagle, half eagle, three dollar piece, quarter eagle, and dollar. The circular base is painted black. The balance arm is stamped PAT'D JUNE / 3 . 1879 at the end. Fine condition, with most of the paint intact. The base measures 4.3 x 3.4 inches.
