Lot of three Edward Kronenberg counterfeit detectors. A circa 1880s detector with two round coin slots is stamped PAT. APP'D FOR on the top, with two slits for checking coin thickness. The slots are unmarked. Very good condition. Measures 4.3 x 2.0 x 1.9 inches. A second example of the aforementioned counterfeit detector, also in very good condition. A printed message is pasted to the bottom: "Presented to Charles E. Kacy by James Kacy Bird-in-Hand Pa October 1st. 1889." A small paper inscribed "23" is taped to the side. The third brass counterfeit detector is patent number 195451, and has two coin slits on top to measure thickness, diameter, and weight. Inscribed COIN DETECTOR on one side and KRONENBERG'S PATENT on the other. A small paper inscribed "#16" is taped to the bottom. Fine condition. Measures 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.9 inches. Ex: Eric P.
