Pair of Counterfeit Coin Detector Brass Rocker Scales. Very Good to Fine. The first item is Moore's patented brass rocker scale, with slots inscribed for half eagles and quarter eagles on one side of the beam and a counterweight on the other. The maker's name is inscribed on the counterweight and the word PATENT is on the base. Made in Philadelphia, circa 1834. The second item is a brass rocker scale with counterweight on one side and unmarked slots for quarters and half dollars on the other. The counterweight is inscribed CHAS. E. SEYMOUR/442 W. 46 ST/N.Y. A short descriptive note on a circular tag, written by Eric P. Newman, indicates this piece is Ex: Gorlick #4. The larger Seymour detector is approximately 5.2 x 1.1 x 1.3 inches. Ex: Eric P.
