Staats Coin Changer, with Stand and Sorting Tray for Top, 1890. Good. A Staats coin changer, with coin stacks and triggers for each U.S. coin denomination from 1 cent to 1 dollar. The cent trigger is broken. A black metal decorated stand and sorting tray accompany the changer. Both stand and sorting tray are inscribed with a patent date of February 25, 1890. The sorting tray has slots for denominations from five cents to one dollar and a large rectangular depression for loose change. The three components are easily separated. Approximately 10 � x 6 � x 8 inches. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
