Description Hedman Manufacturing Company, F&E Lightning Coin Changer, Series E. Very Good. This intriguing machine was designed to quickly make change in any amount from one cent to 99 cents. The typewriter-style keyboard is marked with black and red keys in five cent increments, with four white keys marked 1 through 4. The two red keys, one marked 25 and the other marked 50, dispensed multiple coins. The rack on top of the machine has eight slots for cents through half dollars, and pushers at the bottom of each slot to dispense either one or two coins, depending on the exact change required. Each slot held a stack of coins, from left to right, dimes, dimes, cents, cents, cents, nickels, quarters, and half dollars. The pushers would dispense a single coin from each slot, except the third and fifth slots that would dispense two cents each. All keys and levers are operational on this ingenious coin changer.
