Downey-Johnson Coin Counter. Fine. An intricate hand cranked device for counting and storing large amounts of change, with settings for cents, nickels, quarters, and half dollars. Manufactured by the Johnson Fare Box Company of New York and Chicago. It has a gray metal body, with a rectangular nameplate on the side and patent information on the rear. The working parts are covered by a perforated metal lid when closed. Approximately 10 x 10 x 9 inches closed. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
