Asian Figure Composed of Chinese Cash Coins and Carved Wood. This likely mid-20th century figure includes a large number, perhaps 200, of Chinese Cash coins tied with string, and decorated with carved wooden features that are possibly Balinese. The figure's arms are formed from coins that are bent around an internal wooden structure. The obverse and reverse of two coins show them to be from the Qianlong and Jiaqing periods dating from 1735 to 1820. The others may be from the same period, or perhaps later. An interesting decorative piece for the Asian enthusiast. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
