Six-Piece Proof Set Case. This empty 2 x 6.75 inch case has a plush purple velvet and satin interior in good condition, although the outside of the case is in poor condition, missing most of its leather covering. The satin interior has gilt lettering on two lines: "Mary Margaret Reich" and "August 9th, 1898." In Henry Voigt and Others Involved with America's Early Coinage, Karl Moulton speculates that Mary Margaret Reich was the daughter of Johannes (John) Reich of the Mint's engraving staff in the early 19th century.
