MDCCXLVI (1746). Four parts complete, bound in one volume. Finely engraved main title; parts two and three with drop-titles; finely engraved title to the fourth part; engraved size chart; 306 engraved plates of coins in all. [bound with] Ames, Joseph. An Index to the Pembrokian Coins and Medals. No place or date of publication. Drop-title, (8) pages, finely engraved armorial woodcut at end. Large thick 4to, contemporary full English calf; both boards bordered with double gilt fillets; spine with six raised bands, decorated in gilt; dark red morocco spine label, gilt; board edges ruled in gilt; gilt inner dentelles; all page edges red; marbled endpapers. Both boards loose, but holding; signs of previous attempts to strengthen joints. Two engraved bookplates. Very good or so. In the final section are to be found the earliest known printed illustrations of several American Colonial coins (including the Good Samaritan shilling). Estimate $350. Ex: Eric P.
