Philadelphia, c. 1883. 12mo, contemporary but not original red quarter pin-grained morocco with marbled sides; spine lettered in gilt; tan endpapers; page edges plain; original pictorial paper covers titled Illustrated History of the U.S. Mint.. bound in. 120, (8) pages; text illustrations. The new 1883 Liberty Head nickels are depicted on a page following the main text. Also included is a damaged deluxe version (lacking rear board and final leaf) of an early 1885 edition with a frontispiece of A. Loudon Snowden. Estimate $100. Ex: Eric P.
