Description | State of Georgia October 16, 1786 5 Shillings Fr. GA-129. PCGS Extremely Fine 40. A very distinctively engraved series by Abernathie and printed in Augusta by John E. Smith on watermarked Dutch paper. The lower denominations are scarce, and this lightly circulated note is handsome. There are two signatures. The left margin is close, but the others are wide. The note has the look of a New at first glance and is an ideal example from the series. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society From Newman VIII (Heritage Auctions, 11/2017), lot 28035, realized $1320. Image and description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, https://ha.com. |
