Description | State of New Hampshire April 29, 1780 $4 Fr. NH-182. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ. A superb, fully issued, and uncancelled New Hampshire Guaranteed by the United States note. The vast majority of notes remaining from the series were cancelled with large holes. This note carries a hefty premium uncancelled and is among the finest seen by us of any denomination from the issue. The margins and centering are perfect on the face and nearly so on the back. There are three perfectly penned signatures on the face and the countersignature of John Taylor Gilman on the back. The red back emblem and right border color are vibrant. With virtually imperceptible handling and essentially as made over 230 years ago. These notes are rarely seen like this. Another top-grade Colonial note from the Newman cabinet. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society From Newman VIII (Heritage Auctions, 11/2017), lot 28059, realized $3120. Image and description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, https://ha.com. |
