New York Water Works August 2, 1775 8 Shillings Fr. NY-175. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. An amazingly premium condition example from the second series of Water Works notes printed by Hugh Gaine. Cuts were engraved by Elisha Gallaudet. The face bordering and denomination are printed in red. The thick back has a distinctive vignette and Gaine's imprint. Top and bottom margins are exceptional, and the ends are wide. Riveting red color and deep embossing make this note stand out. This is serial no. 2900.
