Yep, I was there and remember it well, Mike. I also recall getting a
nasty letter from a national dealer after I had commented on his
willingness to sell slabbed colonials. Much the same as the local
dealer who sold a British counterfeit slabbed as a Machins - some
people only look at it from the $ angle. And I don't pitty the poor
suckers who take the word of/on the slabbers/slab. The whole concept
still disgusts me.
