The city has so much to offer..just not for me anymore...I guess I've lost my desire to be cultured<s>....

There are only two places I go to in NYC, and that's Stacks and ANS. Those are the only two places I know how to get to. Otherwise I prefer the suburbs. I find the big city a little intimidating.

Hi Ray,
Sounds like a great time. I'll get there one day....it's just that the thought of going into the city makes me cringe. When I was in my teens and 20's I was always there..(it's only a 50 minute ride by train or bus)...tastes change...I guess I prefer the sound of birds singing around a mountain lake to horns honking around Times Square.<s>

I had an enjoyable day at ANS yesterday! I decided to ignore the work load in my shop and treat myself to a numismatic day - and I have no regrets! Roger Moore and I have done some research on the Maris Plates of NJ coppers, and we are working on the final paper to be published in CNL. It only took a couple minutes in the ANS library, and the answers to our questions were solved. I met with Roger Siboni and Jack Howes in the library and joined them in viewing their requested materials. I actually saw the ORIGINAL indenture (correct term?) forming the Machin's Mills partnership, along with all the signatures and melted wax seals! There were many other catalogs and plates I saw too. Frank Campbell was able to join us for lunch across the street. Frank is fun to be around and his years of experience in the library has him enables him to find exactly what you're looking for. If you call in advance of a visit, he'll have what you need set aside. I spent
about 20 minutes in the collections room before parting company and heading back for Trenton (about 3:45), in hopes of missing rush hour traffic (I did) and called Roger Moore with the info I had found.
Are you stressed at work, need a day off? Treat yourself to a day at the ANS Library - you deserve it!
Ray
