    In the of the United States : Mr. Voorhees submitted the following resolution; resolved, that the committee on finance be, and is herby, instructed to inquire into the expediency of making the trade-dollar, authorized by sction 15 of the act of Congress approved February 12, 1873, a legal tender for all debts, public and private, and of providing for its recoinage into the standard dollar of 412 1/2 grains. 12/2/1878
